The subject was fear... which I was at first really confused... this picture has really none of the major things we think of as scary...
So I was trying to put a theme, and I know a lot of people who's husbands are in the military, and to them, I supose this is their biggest fear... that's what this is about..

First, I thought of the lineart version too - but this messege is clearer. The biggest fear for many persos is to wait for someone that mybe won't come back... You have my vote!
